FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ'S)

How do I register with the practice ?

Please call in and a receptionist will give you a form to complete. Our list is currently open and we are accepting new patients.

How do I make an appointment ?
Please Call us on 01522 530334 or call into the surgery in person

What parking facilities do you have ?

We have a car park at the back of the surgery  - this is accessed from Baggholme road. The car park is only small (13 spaces) and is used for staff also. Please park responsibly and please be aware that some of the street  parking nearby requires a residents parking permit and traffic wardens do patrol the area !!

What about confidentiality ?

Your records are safe with us
How we use your personal information

What if I think I need a home visit ?

Please telephone the surgery and speak to a receptionist who will advise you on our home visit procedure. Please try and telephone BEFORE 10am. REMEMBER - a home visit is ONLY  to be used for patients who are too ill or infirm to visit the surgery in person. One home visit takes a huge  chunk of time from a doctor's working day so PLEASE use this service responsibly. The doctor will probably ring you back after surgery to discuss your  problem as it may be possible for  him/her to give you advice over the phone  and avoid having to visit.

What is a telephone consultation ?

If you need advice or simply need to discuss your medication you can request a telephone consultation with the doctor. This saves you the  inconvenience of having to come to the surgery. It also saves us an appointment slot which can then be used for someone who needs to see the doctor in person. If the doctor feels he/she needs to see you once he has  spoken to you on the phone he will then request that you make an appointment.

If I am not satisfied with the service I have received what do I do ?

We strive to provide you with a first class service from the moment you  walk in our door. Unfortunately, on occasions, things do not go to plan. If you are unhappy with any of your medical treatment, or any administrative matter, we would encourage you to discuss this with us. You may talk, in confidence, to our practice manager or a doctor. If you feel this is not appropriate please put your complaint in writing to  the practice manager. We will endeavour to deal with your complaint a  quickly as possible. If you do not get the answer you require you have  the right to complain to NHS Lincolnshire -please ask at reception for details or visit their website (link on our policies & links page). There is also an independent body (East Midlands ICAS) set up to help patients work though any grievances with any aspect of their healthcare. We can provide you details upon request (again see link on this website).

WE SINCERELY HOPE THAT IN THE  UNLIKELY EVENT THAT YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED THAT YOU WE CAN TRY AND RESOLVE ANY MATTERS WITH YOU PERSONALLY. We are all committed to giving you a positive patient experience and first class healthcare.

How do I get hold of a doctor outside normal business hours ?

Call the new Lincolnshire out-of-hours number which is free from landlines and Mobiles Simply Dail 111 (One One One)

Alternatively telephone the surgery on the usual number (01522 530334) and follow the instructions to connect you the the relevant out of hours doctors service.

Can i collect my prescription from my local pharmacy/chemist ?

Yes. We operate a service with several local chemists whereby they will send a driver to us to collect a batch of prescriptions. The chemist will then prepare your medication and you can then collect it from the  chemist. Some chemists will offer a delivery service for the medication  but this is usually reserved for the old and infirm. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL CHEMIST FOR DETAILS - YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A FORM TO GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO COLLECT YOU PRESCRIPTION FROM US.

What are my rights and responsibilities ?

It is your right to request a specific Doctor and we will always try to honour this request where possible.

YOU have a responsibility to keep your appointment and contact us if you are unable to attend (see "Failure to attend policy" on policies page)

YOU must behave in a reasonable and responsible manner to all staff, doctors and property.

We operate a ZERO TOLERANCE policy wherby abusive or violent behaviour is  not acceptable. We reserve the right to remove you from our patient list and involve the police if appropriate.
