Clinics
We choose not to operate special clinics for certain medical conditions. Instead we offer you an extended appointment during normal surgery times. Most common chronic diseases are managed by the practice nurses , who take advice from the doctors. The nurses are fully trained and experienced in providing these services. They offer advice and management in the following areas :
General Nursing, Blood pressure screening, Well woman & Cervical Smears, Asthma, Diabetes, HRT, Family Planning, Heart Disease, COPD & foreign travel advice.
Choose and Book (Patient Choice)
We are now participating in the choose and book initiative. If the doctor decides you need futher medical care and refers you to the hospital you will be given a booking refence number during your consultation. You will then be required to contact the choose and book centre by telephone after 5 days. The operators at the centre will talk to you about choice of hospital and choice of appointment time. THIS PROCESS IS HELPING TO REDUCE WAITING TIMES AND IS BETTER FOR THE PATIENT. MANY MINOR PROBLEMS CAN BE DEALT WITH IN A NON-HOSPITAL SETTING WHICH HAVE MUCH SHORTER WAITING LISTS.
Doctors
As well as general medical services the doctors are fully qualified for :
Maternity services, minor surgery (eg removal of warts, moles etc), family planning, child heath surveillance.
