COVID 19

Public message

The Covid-19 vaccination programme is continuing to focus on protecting the most vulnerable, and have almost completed first dose appointment invitations to all over 80 year olds in the county. If you are 80 years or older, and have NOT yet been called to arrange your first dose vaccination appointment, please contact your GP practice, to ensure your contact details are correct and that you are invited in. Anyone under 80 years does not need to call in. You will be contacted in due course as we continue to work through the national priority group order.

If you do not know your NHS number, which you need to organise your appointment, you can find it using this service: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/find-nhs-number/

Please note – we are working through the age groups and you will be contacted for an appointment.    25/1/21

Our primary care vaccination centres have started to launch in Lincolnshire. This vaccine delivery model is currently prioritising the over 80 age group. There is a national phased approach to these centres. We are delighted that Lincolnshire featured in the first wave, and are looking forward to the rest of the county launching its centres in the coming days and weeks.

Local vaccination centres are not always a ‘like for like’ with practices, as they are delivered via ‘primary care networks’ across the county. This means that whilst not 100% of surgeries in the county will deliver vaccinations, 100% of the appropriate population registered with them will be able to access vaccinations by a joined up approach between neighbouring GPs.

We would like to remind patients that you do not need to do anything to book an appointment. As soon as a vaccination appointment is available to you, you will be contacted to organise this. Please do not call the surgery

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you’ve started coughing repeatedly
  • You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you’re staying at home.
  • Read the advice about staying at home.
  • Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you’re staying at home.
  • Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:

  • you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
  • your condition gets worse
  • your symptoms do not get better after 7 days
  • Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.
  • Use the 111 coronavirus service

IMPORTANT – IF YOU ARE SYMPTOMATIC AND ARE ASKED TO ATTEND THE PRACTICE FOR AN APPOINTMENT  – YOU WILL BE ASKED TO USE A SEPARATE ENTRANCE – B at the side of the building – please ask if you are unsure.

Due to the current coronavirus situation, we are now asking patients to use AskMyGP when they wish to book any appointments at the practice including nurse appointments so that we can screen the request fully. To ask for a nurse appointment please just raise the request in exactly the same way as you would for a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner appointment.

During Covid-19 we ask that patients do not come to the surgery unless invited to do so by the practice.     We are trying to protect vulnerable patients, and practice staff.               We have also reduced some of our services so that we can focus on managing patients with Covid-19.    We are still able to assess and advise patients remotely about any concerns that they have which are not Covid-19 related.     You can contact the surgery to get advice and assessment preferably online via AskMyGP or by telephone.    If a clinician thinks that you need to be seen they can arrange for an appropriate appointment or perform a video consultation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM NHS ENGLAND – Seasonal Flu

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
